Mark Gonzales – Vision “Face” (1986)

Why it’s note worthy:

Early Gonz graphic: This is one of Mark Gonzales’ earliest pro models, and it helped establish him as a pioneer in the street skating world. It predates his move to Blind and his more abstract art direction.

Designed by Andy Takakjian: The hand-drawn portrait was created by Vision's legendary in-house designer, Andy Takakjian. It captured Gonz’s unique style and personality—loose, bold, and just a little weird.

Historic impact: This board came out as street skating was becoming its own thing, and The Gonz was leading the charge with creative tricks and a raw approach to spots that changed how people saw skateboarding.

Colour variants: The original was released in multiple eye-popping colourways—bright pink, teal, and yellow. Finding an original in clean condition today is extremely rare.

Shape and build: It came in multiple colourways and was known for its “football” shape and vibrant stains—a classic late-80s silhouette.

In 2015, Vision reissued this deck, but original 1986 versions have sold for $2,000+ on collector markets
