Chad Muska – Shorty’s “Silhouette” (1998)

Why it’s note worthy:

The Muska era begins: Released during the peak of Muska Mania, the “Silhouette” was his most iconic pro model with Shorty’s. Muska was skating to hip-hop, rocking a boombox, and bringing full swagger to the scene—this board captured that vibe perfectly.

Graphically legendary: The silhouetted figure with the boombox became an instant classic. It felt more like an album cover than a skateboard graphic—simple, stylish, instantly recognizable.

Cultural moment: This deck came out right before Fulfill the Dream dropped (1998), one of the most influential skate videos of the ‘90s. Muska’s part in that video burned this board into skate culture history.

Collectors’ status: OG versions of the Silhouette are extremely hard to come by. Even the reissues fetch top dollar thanks to nostalgia and the board’s pure icon status.

Fun fact:

Muska was so influential at the time that this deck was reportedly flying off the shelves faster than Shorty’s could restock it. It became a symbol of ‘90s skateboarding’s golden moment.
